18 Week Ultrasound

November 14, 2007

We had our level 2 ultrasound on Wednesday, November 14, this is the one where they do all of the measurements to make sure the baby is growing well and to find out the sex of the baby. It was hard to believe that I was even far enough along to be able to have this ultrasound already, I was barely even looking pregnant. Nonetheless, I was so excited and nervous that everything was going to be okay, I barely slept the night before and had a random crying episode the day before, too. Emotions were getting the best of me, I suppose. Anyway, the ultrasound went very well and we found out we are having a GIRL! I think Jon was disappointed for a half a second and then got over it. She was measuring just where she should be at that point and she was moving around like crazy. Jon was amazed at how much she was moving and that I couldn't feel a hint of it. He thought I should be flying off the exam table by the way she was kicking her legs. Maybe we've got a little soccer player...

Here are some of the pictures from the ultrasound. Technology is incredible, it is amazing how much detail you can see from the ultraound, especially with the 3-D pictures. Those are a little freaky, these pictures would be great at about 30 weeks when she actually looks like an infant and not an alien baby. Looking at these pictures is amazing, it is so hard to believe that she is growing inside of me!

Profile, I love this picture!

Her face is looking at you, you can see her eyes, nose, and mouth.
