Julia's First Trip to Toledo
June 5-9 , 2008
We all took a road trip to Toledo to visit Grandma and Nana and Papa, and to go to Graham's first birthday party. Julia has made the trip to the lake, but that is only an hour away. This was her first official road trip, and she did very well in the car. She slept most of the way, only waking up to eat, about 45 minutes from Toledo. We almost make it the whole way! Oh well, we can't complain that we only had to stop one time on our first long trip with her.
We had a nice, long weekend in Toledo. We had lots of time to visit with family and friends, which was nice because it seems like every time we go there we are rushing around trying to see different people and do way too much in a short amount of time. So this trip was much better and we actually got to relax a little and had no problem seeing everyone we wanted to see. On Saturday, we went to my friend, Jen's house to visit her and her newborn son, Mitchell. Jen and I were pregnant at the same time. Jen was due about 1 week after me, but delivered Mitchell 3 days before Julia was born! Mitchell is very cute and about the same size as Julia. It was great to visit with Jen and her husband, Joel, comparing stories and new baby experiences. Later that afternoon, we went to my sister's house for Graham's first birthday party. The theme of the party was pirates, and Graham had the most ridiculous pirate costume on. He is not going to be happy with his mommy when he is older and sees pictures from the party. Talk about blackmail pictures! He was very cute and didn't seem to mind the costume, even though it was about 90 degrees outside. On Sunday, we spent the evening at my mom's house with her side of the family, who all met Julia for the first time. She was very spoiled all weekend being held and getting lots of attention from everyone. Thanks to grandparents babysitting, Jon and I even got to play tennis twice and go out to eat and shopping without baby in towe. It was nice to get out and do something by ourselves, and I know all of the grandparents loved their time with baby Julia!
