Family Baby Shower in Toledo

February 9, 2008

So after all of the drama of the car accident on Friday, I made it to Toledo safe and sound that evening, just later than I had originally planned. Oh well, I'll take that any day over being hurt in the accident or having preterm contractions. Needless to say, I slept great that night when I finally arrived at my dad's house!

Saturday was great. I met my mom for breakfast and coffee in the morning and followed that up with manicures and pedicures with my sister, Jane. I then headed to my shower, that my sister Kyle, threw for me. It was at Nana and Papa's house, and Kyle did a fabulous job with everything. The food was outstanding, she made these vanilla cupcakes with raspberry filling from scratch that were out of this world. I ate 6 of them in 2 days! Kyle is so great at planning and catering parties! It was so nice to see all of my family in Toledo, and one of my great friends from grade school, Jen, was even able to come. It was great to see Jen, she is also pregnant and due only one week after me. It is so fun to have a great friend going through the same things that I am to compare notes! It would be even better if we lived in the same city and could get together more often. At least there is email to stay in touch and share pictures! It was fun getting to talk to all of the women in my family and hear all of their pregnancy, labor, and delivery stories. It is crazy to think that the next time I see all of these people will be with baby Julia! Everyone was so generous, we received some lovely gifts - the quilt for our nursery, a highchair, lots of bath accessories, a baby swing, bouncy seat, activity table, and lots of adorable outfits for Julia. She is going to be so spoiled!

I didn't get many pictures on my camera, here's what I have... I know my mom and Aunt Mary Beth took a lot of pictures, so hopefully they'll pass some along so I can include them on the site (hint, hint!)

Biscuit even got a present! Kyle made sure that he wouldn't feel left out with Julia getting all of the attention. He looks so handsome in his new bandana.
