Julia's 4-Month Updates...

Working full time with a baby leaves very little time for many things, including managing a web site. So, sorry for the long time since the last update with pictures (I can't believe it has been a whole month!) I try and leave work as early as I can so I can get home and spend a couple of hours with Julia before she goes to bed. Needless to say, things like laundry and cleaning get saved for the weekend (and I don't really feel like doing it then either!) We spend our late afternoons and early evenings outside with Biscuit and the neighbors, practicing tummy time, reading books, or just chillin' in Tiny Love (that's what we call her activity mat).
Julia seems so much bigger and full of personality over the past couple of weeks. At four months, Julia:
- has the biggest smile and continues to be a happy, easy, and laid back baby. She laughs and cackles at just about anything, especially when you sing to her or make funny faces.
- has discovered her voice and loves to use it! She has started squealing, it is very high-pitched and loud, and she thinks thinks this is hilarious.
- loves to check herself out in the mirror.
- weighed 12 pounds 2 ounces and was 23 3/4 inches long (both were at the 25-50th percentile for her age) at her four month appointment. She did not like her four month immunizations, she did not feel well and threw up twice that day. We felt so bad for her, she just looked and acted like she wasn't feeling well.
- can hold her head up very well now. She is also very good at pushing herself up on her elbows when she is on her tummy.
-has rolled over twice now, once from her belly to back and once from her back to belly. I'm sure it won't be long before she is rolling all over the place.
- had no trouble adjusting to daycare. She has had no problems eating or sleeping, and had no change in temperament since we started daycare. I have some issues with daycare, but that's a whole other story! I don't think any place will do things the way I would (or any other mom for that matter), so I just need to trust that Julia is safe and being well taken care of while I am at work.
- is still breastfeeding (and receiving only breast milk) and now takes 7 oz at a time when she drinks from a bottle.
- still has brown hair, although a little lighter, and blue eyes.
- is a drooling machine! She loves to suck on her fingers or anything she can get into her mouth. A bib, to soak up all that drool, has become a permanent accessory!
- is starting to sit, with support, pretty well. She does great in her bumbo seat.
- LOVES bath time and splashing in the water.
- sleeps 10-11 hours at night and often wakes up with her head at the opposite end of the crib from where she fell asleep. Luckily, we are having no problems with bedtime so far.
- is slowly learning that we will come to her if she cries. She sometimes lets out this piercing scream/cry to get our attention, and then laughs when we get to her. She probably thinks we are the biggest suckers!
Julia woke up with some serious bed head last Saturday. She looks like she's thrilled to get her picture taken. Hey, I'd be embarrassed, too, if somebody tried to take my picture with hair looking like that!
