Congrats Cortneigh & Matt!

May 10, 2008

Julia had her first all day outing at Cortneigh (Jon's cousin) and Matt's wedding on Saturday, May 10th. We drove up to Noblesville for the day not knowing what to expect... Would Julia wake up screaming in the middle of the service? How would she do for an hour in the car? Would I have to stop and breastfeed her in a parking lot somewhere on the way? How would she handle being passed around by 100 different people? Should we take a 4 week old infant to a wedding? Well, everything went wonderfully! Julia slept for the whole car ride and through the entire service. We were at Jon's Aunt Cindy and Uncle Jim's house in between the ceremony and reception when Julia woke up and needed to eat. So luckily I had a private and comfortable place to feed her, I hadn't quite mastered the whole breastfeeding in public thing yet (although I'm getting much better at that now, I have discovered the "Hooter Hider," you other breast feeding moms know what I'm talking about!) Julia met most of the Eynon side of the family. It was great, Jon and I got to eat our entire dinner uninterupted while different family members took turns holding her.

The hardest part of the day was trying to find something to wear. Luckily I started trying on dresses a week before the wedding, only to realize, of course that nothing fit me (mainly because my breastfeeding boobs don't fit into any dress I own, sorry TMI!) I know I shouldn't expect my clothes to fit only a month after having a baby, but still a little depressing when even your "fat clothes" aren't fitting! The good part was that I had to go shopping! So I bought a cute spring jacket (to cover up the large boobs!) and a new black skirt, I thought I could at least wear both of these again.

Cortneigh and Matt are a great couple, and they had a beautiful ceremony and reception. They were blessed with a gorgeous, sunny day for their wedding, which was very lucky because it was the one nice day in between about 7 rainy ones! We really enjoyed getting to show off Julia and spend time with Jon's family at the wedding. Congrats to Cortneigh and Matt!
