36 weeks pregnant... March 17-23, 2008

Happy Easter!

This week officially started my weekly doctor's appointments. It's hard to believe we're at that point already, the last few weeks have gone by very quickly! My doctor's visit Tuesday went well. The appointments continue to be relatively uneventful. My weight was up another 3 pounds, putting my total weight gain thus far at 25 big ones. I'm sure I'll easily be pushing 30 before it is all over. In fact, I may have gained that last 5 pounds in the last 3 days. I have been eating a lot lately, everything just sounds so good! Plus, it doesn't help that the NCAA tourney has started. Just in the last 3 days, we've had pizza, a full day at Champps to watch the games, and a night at a friends' house with tons of snacks (including some incredible spicy cheese dip!) and brownies. Now today, I've eaten about a half a box of sugar cookies. Wow, how pregnant does that sound?! Anyway, I won't be surprised if I've gained another 5 pounds this week! Other news from the appointment - Julia's heart rate remains healthy as does my blood pressure, and as far as my doctor can tell, Julia's position is head down (with her feet in my ribs!), right where she should be.

So now that we are in the final stretch, we have been getting everything finished around the house and trying to get all of the last minute things done. Yesterday, I had a fun "me" day. I started the day with a prenatal massage, Jon gave me a gift certificate for Christmas for Philippes, a beautiful spa here in Indy. I am so glad I waited until now to get the massage, it was wonderful, very relaxing. Then I had lunch at Cafe Patachou with my friend, Natalie, and her boyfriend, Blake. I followed lunch with a trip to Target to buy things I may need for the hospital. I bought some comfy socks, a zip up hoodie, a new iPod player, and a bunch of random, last minute, Target purchases. You know how a trip to Target can be when you are just roaming the store, it's dangerous! I then headed to my favorite little nail place in Broad Ripple for a Pedicure. It was great, I watched Duke get beat while getting my toe nails done. There may not be a better way to watch basketball! On my way home, I stopped to get my car washed, inside and out, so now it is all ready for the car seat to be installed. It was a very productive and fun day, but I was exhausted when I got home. It was a good thing all I had to do for the rest of the day was lay on the couch and watch more basketball. I am not doing fantastic in the pool, but I am staying confident. All of my final four teams are still in with Kansas, my winner, and Xavier (my underdog final four team that is going to win me some money) still holding strong.

Just about all I have left to do is pack our bags for the hospital. I have my lists printed out and I think I have everything, it just needs to get organized and packed. Jon is going to work on some delivery room playlists for the iPod, and is praying that I don't go into labor before the final four is over. I also have some last minute things at work to do before my maternity leave, so we are both hoping that Julia stays put for at least another week or two!
