Sister Trip to South Carolina
Melissa, Jane, and I took a trip to South Carolina at the end of May. We thought it would be fun to take a sisto trip before things got too hectic, Jane just finished her freshman year and Melissa was just about to graduate from med school, and I was celebrating my 30th birthday a little early. We missed Kyle, but she was about 37 weeks pregnant at the time, so a 12 hour road trip was probably not the best idea for her. We spent the first 2 days in Charleston and then finished the vacation in Hilton Head. Charleston was a great city, downtown has so much character and great shopping! Hilton Head was nice, but we didn't have the greatest weather. It was a little cooler than we expected, but we still had fun, there just wasn't a lot of beach time. We got a little exercise, we rented bikes when we were there and rode them everywhere (Jane really loved riding her bike to dinner all dressed up and ready to go out!)
Our first stop in Charleston. I can't remember the name of the restaurant we were at, but they had the best happy hour ever. I think we ordered just about every appetizer on the menu and each had 2 drinks for about $20! |

I really loved this hat, if only I were going to the Kentucky Derby... |
This was our mode of transportation in Charleston, the rickshaw. We had some young buff boy drive us around downtown to look at all the old, pretty houses. Why don't you see more of these? It was great! |
The Charleston Dog Show happened to be the same weekend we were there.

We met the funniest old ladies selling pickled anything at the Charleston farmers' market. Jane was thoroughly enjoying her pickle! I ate some spicy, pickles squash. The ladies wouldn't let you leave without trying anything! |
We literally biked everywhere in Hilton Head... |
