The Colts Win the 2007 Superbowl!
We were so ahead of the game when we booked our honeymoon several months ahead of time, but who knew the Colts were going to win the AFC Championchips and make it to the Super Bowl?! We thought ahead and planned our wedding on an "off" weekend during the playoffs, but didn't think that if the Colts happen to make it to the Super Bowl, that we would be in Mexico. That would have been fine with me to watch football in 85 degree weather drinking a margarita. Once we found out the exciting news about the Colts, there was no way Jon was going to be several thousand miles from Indy on Super Bowl Sunday. So of course, he wanted to fly back early and I did not want to cut our vacation short, it was our honeymoon! So we made a compromise (that's what marriage is all about, right?), so we flew home 2 days early to be in Indy for the Super Bowl, but we did not go home! We took a limo from the airport to the Conrad downtown, where Jon booked a suite for 2 nights. We had a huge room with 3 flat screen TVs (one even in the bathroom) and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. We drank mimosas at the famous Conrad Sunday brunch and then had about 10 of our friends down to watch the game in our room. Apparently we weren't the only ones with this idea, I've never seen so many crock pots and coolers in a hotel elevator in my life! So, of course, we had an awesome time and a great celebration on the circle after the game. Here are some of the pictures from that day, some of us even made it in the Star! It was definitely worth coming back to watch the Super Bowl in Indy. The only draw back was that it was about 20 below that night, but oh well, I got to wear my fur helmet hat and we've got a great story!
